Fast and furious, the Italian way

Few sporting events capture Italian passion quite like the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza. Known as the “Temple of Speed,” the legendary circuit in Parco di Monza has been a cornerstone of Formula 1 racing since the championship’s inaugural season in 1950. This year, the race returns September 4–6.

Monza is built for pure velocity. Drivers typically spend 80% of each lap at full throttle, rocketing down long straights before standing on the brakes for razor-thin chicanes. With top speeds pushing past 200 mph, the racing becomes a high-stakes blur of slipstreams, late braking and daring overtakes.

Race weekend transforms the area into a full-blown celebration, with fan zones, pop-ups and events spreading through Monza and nearby Milan. Just nine miles and an easy train ride away, Milan is an ideal base for race fans who want to balance trackside adrenaline with world-class food, fashion and aperitivo.
